Housing Adaptation Grant Scheme for People with a Disability
Aimed at adaptation of accommodation to meet the needs of people with a disability who will occupy the property as their normal place of residence on completion of the works.
Scheme Overview
Disabled Persons Grant applicants may withdraw their current applications and re-apply for this grant. Maximum grant is €30.000 or 95% of cost of approved works whichever is less. Scheme subject to means test - Max grant or 95% of cost of approved works made available to applicants whose gross household income less that €30,000. This tapers to 30% of cost of works for households between €30,000 and €65,000. No grant payable to households with incomes of €65,000 or more.The Local Authority must now seek appropriate evidence of ownership of a property prior to processing grant applications. Eligible works include - access ramps, stair lifts, downstairs toilet facilities, accessible showers, adaptations to facilitate wheelchair access, extensions where necessary.Other Information
