A grant which is given where a new house is being provided which will accommodate a disabled member of a household.

Maximum loan amount is €12,700

Under no circumstances will a Grant be approved for works which are carried out prior to a decision being reached on the Grant application by the Council.

A design checklist for Housing for Wheelchair users (or those likely to be wheelchair users) as complied by the Occupational Therapist of the Midland Health Board is also available. Regard should be had of this checklist and further advice is available from your local Occupational Therapist. Please note that not all works listed on design sheet list may be covered under the Disabled Persons Grant Scheme.
